Vipassana Hawaii Town Meeting- May 6, 2007

Dear Sangha Members-
It was a pleasure to have so many join in on Sunday’s
potluck with Grahame after another successful retreat
led by the Venerable Sayadaw U Lakkhana. After sharing
some delicious food we had a great town meeting and
some interesting topics arose about planning and
financing future retreats as well as general sangha
expansion.
One direct result of the meeting of minds was that the
group felt it could use some guidance in certain
areas. We’d like to ask one or more of you who might
have some expertise in certain areas if you’d be
willing to sit down with some committee members and
help with a few hours of your time. Specifically what
was felt we could use assistance with includes:
• Business and strategic planning- Long and short term
• Financial analysis & planning- fundraising as well
as accounting expertise
What would be most helpful is if any of these
expertise areas also include non-profit organization
experience as well. If not that is fine- general
knowledge is most helpful as well.
Our goal is to evaluate current activities and costs,
and apply some long term goals and projections for
growth of the whole community. So if you feel that you
could be of service in any of these areas please
contact Thanh or Xuan to let us know of your interest
and availability.
Thank you for your continued practice, and may the
merits of your efforts benefit you and all beings
everywhere.
