MINDFULNESS MEDITATION

A 9 DAY RESIDENTIAL VIPASSANA RETREAT

The Four Noble Truths are the cornerstone of the Buddha's teaching with far reaching effects in our daily lives. The Buddha advised us to cultivate mindful awareness from these teachings, and this vipassana retreat offers the perfect environment to facilitate the growth of such awareness.

Hall in residence areaThis retreat represents a unique fusion of Eastern and Western teaching styles developed through many years of collaboration between the two teachers. There are few opportunities to have such wonderful opportunity to learn and benefit from both remarkable teachers and experience the impact of mindful awareness.

Albezia treesWhat to expect while on retreat:

  • Daily practice sessions in both sitting and walking meditation
  • Daily talks and interviews with teachers including question-answer periods
  • Practice in "noble silence" to foster a peaceful setting for participants
  • Two vegetarian meals will be served, with a juice or tea offering in the evening
    (Please contact Retreat Managers concerning special dietary needs beforehand.)

Palolo BananasRetreat Cost Options:*

  • Working Scholarship - $40/day, $320/full 8 nights
  • Expenses Only - $50/day, $400/full 8 nights
  • Expenses plus Donation** - $60/day, $480/full 8 nights

* The teachers prefer a full retreat attendance from students but recognize outside commitments exist. Therefore a Part-time option is available upon teacher approval of $120/weekend or $55/day for attendance of more than 2 days.

** A receipt will be given for tax purposes in recognition of your generosity.

StatueAdditional information:

This retreat is a rigorous exercise of mindfulness but is suitable for both beginners to meditation and those with experience.

The lovely Palolo Zen Center in Honolulu can only accommodate 20 students, so Vipassana Hawaii advises early registration to ensure a place.

 

ResidenceAir fare for the Sayadaw and other teachers is not part of the costs and provided entirely by our generous contributions. All contributions for airfare and retreat food are greatly appreciated.
